An adidas classic gets a modern makeover in the NMD_R1 shoes

The NMD_R1 is an adidas classic that's never gone out of style. Now we've taken this 1980s classic and updated it for the modern era, while still retaining its signature lines. They combine street-racing credentials with trail-running experience to give a lightweight, tough and very versatile trainer. They're also easily identifiable by their heel pull detailing and moulded EVA midsole plugs that evoke the classic heritage of this trainer. What has changed is the technology that's now available to enhance this classic and turn it into a modern, high-performance training shoe. We use our Boost technology in the inner cushioning design, inserting compartments of responsive micro-particles that return energy to your foot each time it lands and lifts off again. They have a knit material upper, into which has been welded our 3-Stripes. A contrasting gum-coloured rubber outsole gives a court look to these trainers, which is another thing that makes them so distinctive. An inner sockliner is added so that they securely hug the foot without creating any kind of restrictive sensation while you're running. They come in a regular fit, suitable for most runners, and use a straightforward lace closure.
